Spring decoration

The spring has started. Everywhere you can see new little leaves and already lots of flowers. I love the spring, when you admire the first times sitting outside without a jacket and every flower you find makes you look closer and getting your head warmed.
Also easter is near now. I had to find some seasonal craftings for my little art-class students. Look what we did together:

First we redecorated the Dwarf/Lutin-deco-frame:
The daffodils are made with drinking straws and fit perfectly in the holes of the frame. Easy! Gluing the leaves on the tree took some patience from the kids. The little bells are made from egg-boxes.

We also made some Easter decoration to hang up. I have some branches on our side-board that got an Easter touch now.
Painting eggs with the kids made me coming near a hard attack. We lost only three eggs (one was my fault), but there has been much luck in the room, that it didn't become more. I let the kids paint a foundation - very messy hands :-) and after we put fingerprints on them to make chicken and lady-birds. I didn't had the time to take pictures of the kid's eggs, but they managed really well.
We also made pompom animals together. A relaxing project as nothing could break ;-)
The little fabric flowers or bells have been made several years ago by my mom. Aren't they pretty?!

St. Patricks Day

Before blogging again cards with water-color ;-) I'll show you the decoration I made for the St.Patricks Day celebration in our village!
No, I am not Irish and neither is any Irish person living in our village. I think the association who organised that evening just wanted to celebrate, having life music and a good time. And when you want to celebrate in March there are only two possibilities: either carnival or St. Patricks Day.
I am not part of that association, but I know some members (logic in a small village like ours) and they asked me if I would like to assist for the decoration of the village comunity hall. Of course I liked!!
For some weeks I was only thinking in green and started preparing. Of course I had to sew long paper garlands. They are so easy to make, but always giving a great effect and filling a wide room easily. I painted white shamrocks on every second bunting. On this photo you see me painting one garland that is supposed to be seen from the two sides, so every second bunting is turned over.
The evening before St. Patrick everyone involved and a friend of mine gathered for decoration of the hall and preparations. And this is where I forgot to take my camera and the next evening too, so I only have very bad pictures I took with my very old mobile phone :-(
Except of the garlands and of course balloons, I made some vertical garlands with green round folded fans and white discs. They were a lot of work but great to look at. They had been at one corner of the stage and on one wall.
For the table centres I had foreseen a composition like on the first picture, but we had much more tables than I expected, so it had to be spread a bit.
I am disappointed of myself for not taking better pictures, but I hope you got a little impression. I got lots of compliments for the decoration though and had a fun evening with good music (I love Celtic music - it always making you smile)

A bientôt,
Jane

I already decorated this hall several times for events from school and a gospel night (those pictures you find here)

little water color cards and gift tags

You are maybe already bored by all my water color cards, but here are some more. It's very small cards (A6 about half the size of a normal post card). The photo quality is bad, as I had to take them in the evening, because I directly used two cards.
I also colored some gift tags and gave the whole lot away as a small present for a friend we stayed with last weekend. Unfortunately the colors are not as bright on a grey background.

Have a nice sunday!

A bientôt,

striped cuddly toys made by kids (and me)

Look who is trying to escape just after his birth under my sewing mashine?
This animal (from whatever kind) was a sunday afternoon idea in January! I wanted him as example for my kids crafting group, but half an hour after I presented him to my family he had been adopted by younger son and calls now Oskar!
Oskar is now sleeping in a nice bed and is cuddled a lot. I really had trouble to get the permission to show him to my students.
It took three sessions with the kids of my crafting cours to finish their stripy animals, but they were very good with the sewing mashine, had all kinds of ideas and in the end were very proud of their new cuddly toys. I think they can be:
As I use the photo also for the association web-page the remarks are in french, but it says that there is one fantasy-worm, two ocean animals: a dolphin and a fish, one bear, a snake and a complete new species a bit like Oskar! Aren't they great?

A bientôt,
