Lutin/dwarf deco frame in summer

I didn't jet showed you the last season decoration for the seasonal deco frame that I started with the kids of my crafting class! This is my frame in the summer version!
The kids wanted to do butterflies. I found an easy instruction (see this link) and the children got it very fast and made lots and lots of them too.
I later added from last years decorations the little bunting garland and the tulips (a little out of season).
This is the end of that project. The kids liked it too. I hope some might continue and make for the next year their own decorations on it.

Spring decoration

The spring has started. Everywhere you can see new little leaves and already lots of flowers. I love the spring, when you admire the first times sitting outside without a jacket and every flower you find makes you look closer and getting your head warmed.
Also easter is near now. I had to find some seasonal craftings for my little art-class students. Look what we did together:

First we redecorated the Dwarf/Lutin-deco-frame:
The daffodils are made with drinking straws and fit perfectly in the holes of the frame. Easy! Gluing the leaves on the tree took some patience from the kids. The little bells are made from egg-boxes.

We also made some Easter decoration to hang up. I have some branches on our side-board that got an Easter touch now.
Painting eggs with the kids made me coming near a hard attack. We lost only three eggs (one was my fault), but there has been much luck in the room, that it didn't become more. I let the kids paint a foundation - very messy hands :-) and after we put fingerprints on them to make chicken and lady-birds. I didn't had the time to take pictures of the kid's eggs, but they managed really well.
We also made pompom animals together. A relaxing project as nothing could break ;-)
The little fabric flowers or bells have been made several years ago by my mom. Aren't they pretty?!

Dwarf/Lutin-deco-frame in winter

I (and following me, the kids of my crafting class) changed in january the deco-frame to winter style.
It's a little empty! But this is like winter is: a bit reduced to the basics, not overflowing a bit calmer than all the other times of the year. Don't you think so?
The little snow-man is made from branch slices and actually the same like those I made several years ago in big (actually they had been in my first real blog post!).

Enjoy the winter time!

Happy Christmas to all lutins near and far!

Deco-frame with dwarfs

I am so very behind with showing the creations of this autumn! I could probably post every day something for the next week. But I won't have the time I guess. But here is a projekt I develloped for the kids crafting classes in September and October.
We made big frames from branches (in average about 40x40cm). Mine is a bit different than thoses I made with my class. I drilled holes into the horizontal bares to fix the vertical sticks in. But this took some skilles and tool-action that I couldn't do with the children. So for them I cut slots into the bigger branches and we fixed the frame with nails and wire and covered it with cord. You will see the difference in the following pictures. I am still thinking of adding a bit of cord to my frame too, for the rustical touch. What do you think?
We made litte wooden houses and dwarfs from sticks (I call dwarfs by the french word "lutin", because I think it's prettier) . You might know those two decoration elements from several of my former projects. The house is fixed to the frame, but the lutins and all other deco pieces are having a pin beneath and they can be put in changing constellations into different holes in the lower frame bare.
The frame can be used from both ...
The idea is that the frames can be decorated depending on the season. So we will produce this year in the crafting classes, lots of changing seasonal decoration elements that the kids can put as they like onto their frames. Only the house and the lutins will be there the whole year.
This are some of the kids frames:
We are now allready in process of making Christmas decoration for the dwarfs homes. You will see them in december!
